Here are the most frequently asked questions that our customers have about renting our vehicles.
How can I book my vehicle?
As simple as filling out the form on our website or contacting us by phone or WhatsApp at (+34) 687 768 460, or via email at reservas@autosportmany.com. Once we receive your request, we will check the availability of the vehicle and contact you as soon as possible to confirm your quote and request the necessary documentation and information for the processing and confirmation of your reservation.
What documentation do I need to rent a vehicle?
It is essential to present a valid driver’s license (International Driving Permit if you do not belong to the European Union or Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway), identification document, and passport (for foreign citizens) along with a credit or debit card.
For motorcycles, a motorcycle license or a B1 license with a minimum of 3 years of experience up to 125cc (applicable to Spanish driver’s licenses) is required. You may drive motorcycles with engine capacities allowed by your driver’s license according to the laws of your country.
What is the minimum age required to rent a vehicle?
The driver must be a minimum of 21 years old and have at least 2 years of driving experience for economy vehicles, 23 years old with at least 3 years of driving experience for mid-sized vehicles, and 25 years old with at least 5 years of driving experience for vans, convertibles, and other vehicles.
For motorcycles with an engine capacity of 125cc, the minimum age is 21 years old, and prior experience in driving motorcycles is essential.
What is the fuel policy?
It’s as simple as returning the vehicle with the same fuel level as when you received it. This is known as the full-to-full fuel policy. Just make sure to refill the tank before you return the vehicle to avoid any additional fuel charges.
What does the rental vehicle insurance cover?
Our rental vehicle insurance includes third-party coverage, passenger coverage, and damage to the rental vehicle with a deductible (starting at 750€ depending on the model). This means that in case of damage to the rental vehicle, including if it’s caused by an unidentified third party, you will be responsible for paying the repair costs UP TO the maximum amount of the deductible. If an amicable no-fault report is submitted, and the other party’s insurance takes responsibility for the damages, you will not have to pay the deductible.
It’s important to note that the deductible amount can vary depending on the rental company and the specific insurance policy chosen by the renter. It’s also important to understand the terms and conditions of the rental vehicle insurance policy and any exclusions or limitations on the coverage, such as driving on unpaved roads or driving under the influence of alcohol. If you have any questions or concerns, it’s best to contact the rental company directly for clarification.
Can an additional insurance be contracted to eliminate the deductible of the insurance?
Yes, we offer and recommend our PLATINUM insurance. This additional insurance eliminates the deductible of the vehicle insurance in case of damages. Please note that no insurance covers damages to the interior of the vehicle, undercarriage (including the lower parts of the bumpers and doors), clutch, and loss or breakage of keys.
When is the deposit/refundable deposit returned?
The deposit/refundable deposit is only blocked on your card and it is automatically unblocked at the moment of the return of the car, unless it is returned outside office hours, in which case it would be processed the next morning. Please note that depending on your bank, it may take several days for the refund to be reflected in your account.
What is the difference between excess and deposit/security deposit?
The deposit/security deposit is the amount that you will have to leave as a guarantee when picking up the vehicle. This deposit/security deposit is refunded upon return of the vehicle in the same condition as you picked it up, with the same fuel level, and within the agreed-upon dates and times.
On the other hand, the deductible is the maximum amount for which you are responsible in case of damage or theft of the rented vehicle. Remember that you can purchase our PLATINUM insurance to eliminate the deductible.
Can I take the rented vehicle outside of the island of Ibiza?
No, the vehicle cannot leave the island of Ibiza under any circumstances, not even to Formentera.
Is there any mileage limit?
No, our rates include unlimited mileage.
Who will install the child safety items (car seats or boosters)?
The customer is responsible for the correct installation of such safety items. We are not responsible for any misuse or incorrect installation of these items.
Can the credit/debit card be from a person other than the driver?
Yes, by providing the necessary documentation and the cardholder’s information. The cardholder will be responsible for any additional charges incurred after the end of the rental contract (fines, deductible, etc.).
How does the AEROPUERTO EXPRESS vehicle delivery service work?
Upon landing in Ibiza, you will receive a WhatsApp message with a photo of your car, where you can see the exact location where it is parked (usually in Parking P1, 50 meters from the terminal exit). The message will also include information about the fuel level and instructions on where to find the keys, parking ticket (remember to validate the ticket before leaving the parking), and documentation. We recommend that for your peace of mind, you take photos and/or a video of the condition of the vehicle and fuel level before leaving.
You won’t have to wait for anyone or any courtesy minibus, you won’t have to travel anywhere or queue unnecessarily. In less than 5 minutes, you’ll be enjoying your car and your vacation.
How does the AEROPUERTO EXPRESS vehicle return service work?
The same way you picked it up. Remember that it’s essential that you send us a WhatsApp message with a photo of the car once you have parked it in the Parking P1 of the Airport (so we can see its location) and the keys and parking ticket must be left in the same place where you found them. Just like at the time of pickup, we recommend that you take photos and/or a video of the condition of the vehicle and fuel level once you have parked it in the parking lot.
Is there any additional charge for the delivery/return at the airport?
Yes, it will depend on the delivery and/or return time. This charge, if applicable, will be detailed in your final quote before confirming your reservation.
Do I need to pay anything in advance to book the vehicle?
Yes, to guarantee your reservation, you will need to pay a minimum of 1 day’s rental in advance. But don’t worry because you can cancel your reservation without any charge within the established period.
Is there any charge for canceling a reservation?
There is no charge for cancellation as long as it is made with a minimum of 48 hours prior to the day of your arrival, except for reservations for the months of July and August, for which the free cancellation period will be 7 days prior to your arrival date.
What should I do if I receive a fine?
If you receive a fine personally, you should follow the instructions that will appear on the same copy of the penalty in order to make the payment and benefit from the reduction of the penalty amount for early payment.
If we receive a notification for a penalty (parking, traffic, etc.), we must process the identification of the driver so that the penalty is sent to their address. The administrative expenses of this procedure are €45, and once you receive the notification at your address, you must make the payment of the penalty.
